"The Puzzle of Prophecy"

Once one realizes that all of God's promises are interwoven with the nation of Israel, the puzzle pieces of Bible prophecy begin to fit together.

For instance: Antisemitism.

Hitler wasn't the only one driven by a passionate desire to rid the world of Jews. There have been an amazing number of crazed lunatics throughout history all with one rabid intention: Destroy the Jew. Why? It's completely irrational...unless one considers the spiritual dimension: Destroy Israel and you destroy God's credibility. Mmmm...I wonder who'd want to do that?

Bible prophecy is a two-edged sword. On the plus side, God reveals His plan in advance, giving us reliable proof of His existence and authenticating the Bible as the infallible word of God. On the downside, the adversary, Satan, is also privy to the plan.

This creates a dilemma that God solves by using a bit of obscurity. While He can't be so veiled that we don't get the message, it prevents Him from giving us all the detail we might want. Ever wonder why God doesn't just spell it all out for us? He's got good reason; there's a certain demonic element intent on sabotaging God's plan.

From the time of Moses to the time of Christ, Satan tried over and over again to kill all male Hebrew children. Why? Because he knew the Messiah would be a Jew. If he could get rid of the Hebrew babies, the Messiah would never be born. When that failed, he thought he'd nailed it (no pun intended) at the cross. But no, foiled again! The crucified Savior was resurrected. Satan had played right into God's hand--not realizing that the only begotten Son had to die--it was God's plan all along: The Savior would die so we could live.

Even now, the Devil and his minions are working overtime to crush the Jew. Is it a coincidence that Israel is surrounded by enemies?

The Bible predicts the Messiah will return to Jerusalem when the Jews are back in their homeland and besieged on every side. If there are no Jews, there is no Messiah. If there is no Israel, then Satan wins and there is no God. That's how interwoven the nation of Israel is with God's promises.

A wise man once said: "Jewish survival is a phenomena. Jewish history, with all of its tragedies and triumphs, has been accurately foretold; we see the Jews as a miracle of history." -- Hal Lindsey-author
"It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem" (Zechariah 12:9).

"The Asbury Revival"

"Last Wednesday (Feb. 8), students at Asbury University gathered for their bi-weekly chapel service in the 1,500 seat Hughes Auditorium,

"They sang. They listened to a sermon. They prayed.

"A week later, many of them are still there," said Bob Smietana of the Religion News Service.

You read that right--one week later--24 hours a day--it is still going on, packed beyond capacity and spreading to other campuses.

Social media is abuzz with stories from those who've experienced what's now tagged #asburyrevival," reports Greg Stier of The Christian Post. "And the reports give me hope that we could once again see a sweeping awakening across the nation," he said.

But is it for real?

Throughout church history, there have been times of "extraordinary" acts of God characterized by "a significant spiritual spillover effect of evangelism,"he said.

Stier went on to say, "It's not an out-of-control show. It's not hype. It's a spirit-orchestrated meeting wiht spirit-filled believers with the focus on Jesus--and Jesus alone.

According to a Ministry Watch report by Kim Roberts, when a similar revival broke out at Asbury University in 1970, "2,000 witnessing teams were sent out from Asbury to churches and colleges across the country."

The Asbury Revival of 1970 was a major part of the Jesus People Movement (aka The Jesus Revolution) of the 60s and 70s that saw many thousands saved in the United States and across the globe.

So will this "revival" be the same?

We pray to God that it is.

A wise man once said: "Seeing people from every nation, tribe, and tongue, and from all different generations, was a glimpse of heaven. It was very encouraging to see that every one was there for one common goal--to give God glory." -Graci Bradley, Asbury University student

"In the last days, God says,'I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams'" (ACTS 2:17).

"It Was Like The Apocalypse..."

"It was like the apocalypse," said Abdul Salam al-Mahmoud, a Syrian survivor of the giant earthquake that rocked Syria and Turkey on Monday. "It's bitterly cold and there's heavy rain, and people need saving."

According to the USGS, earthquake predictions are not supported by scientific evidence because earthquakes are a natural phenomenon.

Both Abdul and the USGS are correct.

The Book of Revelation (aka the "Apocalypse") predicts the most destructive earthquake the world will ever see, but this quake will definitely not be a natural phenomenon.

Known as the Seventh Bowl Judgment, this worldwide earthquake is the climax of God's wrath against a rebellious earth.

"Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven from the throne, saying, 'It is done!' And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as had not occurred since men were on the earth. Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of wine of the fierceness of His wrath. Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great" (REVELATION 16:17-21).

This horrific earthquake comes at the end of the seven years of tribulation and is God's final act of judgment before Christ returns.

God will not put up with evil forever. Eventually, He will judge the earth...which is why (in the words of Abdul Salam al-Mahmoud)..."people need saving."

A wise man once said: "Get ready to meet Jesus, He could come at any moment, as we see the prophesied days that He spoke of just before His coming judgment on the earth. He warned us that as it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man. But before that time comes, He's promised to evacuate His church up and out of here. Are you ready to meet Him today?" -- Jack Hibbs, senior pastor Calvary Chapel Chino Hills

"I am coming soon" (REVELATION 3:11).
