"What Does The Bible Say About 2020?"

Predicting the future is both tricky and dumb, and yet, people go on doing it. Why? Because people love it. They eat it up. They're even willing to pay for it. And so, of course, people continue to make predictions. Too bad no one seems to notice (or remember) how few of them come to pass. Google '2020 predictions' and we predict you'll get a ridiculous mix of astrology, I Ching, Nostradamus, and a wide variety of psychic prognosticators. Oh, and just enough Bible prophecy to discredit it along with all the others. That's right. Mix it all together--and voila--the Mayans, the Hopis, and the Bible are all equal.

Wait a minute. The purpose of this blog is to examine biblical prophecy and to raise a word of caution regarding non-biblical attempts to predict the future. We are continually shocked to discover how many people believe there is no significant difference!

Because we are living in the most incredible times the world has ever known, it is becoming clear even to the dimmest among us that something unusual is happening. Everything from political crises to international conflicts bombard us daily. Every new turn of events reminds us that the 'tipping point' could be just around the corner. And it could be. But one of the dangers of such expectations is the wild speculations that are sure to follow.

Instead of wildly speculating, why not use the signs of the times as a motivation to seriously study what the Bible has to say about our future?

As prophecy teacher Dr. Ed Hindson put it: "Along the highway, signs are used to identify locations, provide information, and give warnings. The same is true of prophetic signs. They stand out on the biblical horizon to get our attention. They give a glimpse of things to come--but only a glimpse. Signs are not intended to give all the details of future events, yet they do play a prominent role in biblical prophecy."

Much is being said about 2020 (to put it mildly). Will Trump be forced out of office? Who'll be our next president? Will the economy keep booming? Or will it suddenly go bust? Your guess is as good as ours.

Speculating about the future beyond what the Bible actually predicts is a dangerous game we don't want to play. Look no further than the last election.

A wise man once said: "The errors of faith are better than the best thoughts of unbelief." -- Thomas Russell
"You have more than enough advisers, astrologers and stargazers. Let them stand up and save you from what the future holds. But they are as useless as dried grass burning in a fire. They cannot even save themselves" Isaiah 47: 13,14.

"Jesus Isn't Playing Games"

The Bible predicts that in the Last Days people will consider nothing sacred. A new video game seems to prove that point.

"I Am Jesus Christ" is a realistic simulator game inspired by the New Testament and scenes from the Bible, developed by SimulaM.

According to the game's distributor Steam, the player can become Jesus Christ and perform all the famous miracles from the Bible just like Jesus did. Including:

  • walking on water
  • healing the sick
  • exorcising demons and fighting Satan
  • getting crucified
  • and resurrecting
The trailer for "I Am Jesus Christ" was released on December 6 to mixed reactions and "plenty of buzz on social media," said Fox News.

"I'm not sure how to feel about this," wrote one reviewer.

Others were definitely critical.

"Too far, Playway. Thumbs down," said one.

"Seems Blasphemous," said another.

"Not psyched about the gamification of my faith," complained yet another.

And then there were the usual mockers with vile comments we won't quote for obvious reasons.

According to Fox, no details of the game's release date have been posted, although the description of Steam says that it is "coming soon".

Sound familiar?

Jesus Himself said He is "coming soon", but is He?

Got Questions.org put it this way:
"The Greek word tachu, which is translated "soon" or "quickly", means "without unnecessary delay." It does not mean "immediately". The meaning seems to be that events have been set in motion that will usher in His arrival without any unnecessary delay. Everything is moving along according to God's timetable."
Peter reassures us that God is not dragging His feet concerning prophetic events. God's timing is perfect:
"The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief" (2 Peter 3:9-10).
The Bible teaches that Jesus' return for His church is imminent, which means the Rapture could happen at any moment.

To answer the question,"Is Jesus coming soon?" we say, "Yes. He will come without unnecessary delay" Our advice? Choose Jesus before 'GAME OVER'

A wise man once said: "God makes it clear that He desires to see more people come into a relationship with Him. For that reason, you should take advantage of every opportunity you have to pray for or witness to someone who needs Christ." -- Greg Laurie, Harvest Christian Fellowship
"Look, I am coming soon!" (Revelation 22:7).

"What Your Actions Say About You"

God came to earth with a very specific purpose. According to Pastor Ron Johnson of Community Bible Church, God's purpose can be easily lost in the Christmas "mythology, fables, and traditions."

"Tradition tells us that it was a silent night when all was calm and quiet."

"Not true," says Johnson. "This night God launched a full-scale attack on sin and Satan, and Satan launched a full-scale attack on Jesus and His followers. Hardly a silent night."

The big question? Whose side are we on? God's or Satan's?

"Whose side you are on is determined by your reactions to Jesus and what He came to do," says Pastor Johnson. "Every person choosing to walk in sin is choosing to side with Satan."

In other words: It doesn't matter what we say we believe, our actions tell our true beliefs.
  • Do we lie?
  • View pornography?
  • Get drunk?
  • Do our actions support Satan?
The Bible says, "You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?" (Matthew 7:16).

Jesus knows our choice by the way we live our lives. Everything we do (in public or in private) indicates our choice.

Jesus said, "Anyone who isn't with Me opposes Me, and anyone who isn't working with Me is actually working against Me." (Matthew 12:30).

So, do our actions match our true beliefs? The Bible says they do.

"I love them that love Me; and those that seek Me early shall find Me." (Proverbs 8:17)

A wise man once said: "It's human nature to take the things Jesus died for and to make it seem like it's not that big of a deal. That's what we do when we make light of sin. What does it say about us if we proclaim Christ but side with Satan? Hypocrite." --Pastor Ron Johnson, Community Bible Church

"Are GMO Crops Really Something To Fear?"

There's a food fight going on regarding the pros and cons of eating GMOs (genetically modified organisms).

What's that, you ask?

Scientists add genes to corn, soy beans and other crops to protect the plant from insects (among other things) and claim the practice is perfectly safe.

In fact, without it, our food supply would be unstable and much more expensive, say the proponents.

But the contrarians are worried sick that GMOs pose a threat to our health, and claim a link to depression, allergies, infertility, and even the big C--cancer

No way, say the pros. GMOs have been in our food supply for 20 years now and no such link exists. And besides, farmers have been altering crops for centuries.

So, who's right? With 75% of consumers concerned about the safety of GMOs, and 91% preferring to avoid GMOs if given the choice (according to Dr. Oz), let's see if we can boil down the facts.

Food for thought:

  • The cons cite a report that appeared a while back in Food and Chemical Toxicology that rats developed tumors after eating GMOs for 2 years
  • The pros immediately jumped on the study as 'slanted' and scientists agreed. The report was later retracted as untrue by the journal.
  • Food science professor, Ruth MacDonald cites hundred of other studies that have found GMOs as safe as non-GMOs.
  • State Senator David Zuckerman of Vermont claims, "As consumers, we are guinea pigs, because we really don't understand the ramifications.
  • Not true say biologists. GMOs have been studied intensively and found benign.
  • The cons say GMOs are too new for us to know if they are dangerous.
  • Popular Science tells us genetically-engineered plants first appeared in labs about 30 years ago and became a commercial product in 1994. Since then, over 1,700 peer-reviewed studies vouch for their safety.
  • Contrarians claims farmers can't re-plant GMO seeds.
  • The facts? Farmers do sign agreements that prohibit re-planting in order to ensure annual sales, but large-scale commercial growers typically don't bother to save seeds anyway. "The quality deteriorates," says plant scientist Kent Bradford. "They get weeds and so on--and it's not a profitable practice."
  • All research on GMOs has been funded by big-Ag, claim the cons.
  • "Simply not true," says Popular Science. "Hundreds of independent researchers have published peer-reviewed safety studies. At least a dozen medical and scientific groups worldwide, including the World Health Organization and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, have stated that GMOs currently approved for market are safe."
The scientific consensus? GMOs are no more or no less risky that conventional crops.

Chew on that for a minute and then consider a compromise: labeling. Although that opens another whole can of worms and promises to bite us in the wallet, maybe it'll finally put an end to the food fight...but don't hold your breath. Something tells us that labeling won't cut the mustard either.

A wise woman once said: "Myths about the dire effects of genetically modified foods on health and the environment abound, but they have not held up to scientific scrutiny." -- Nina Fedoroff, molecular biologist

"Disturbing New Technology"

Is the world ready for walking, talking, 3-D holograms that can be seen, heard, and even felt without having to rely on any virtual reality systems?

Ready or not--here they come!

According to a team of scientists at the University of Sussex in southern England, the future of hologram technology has come a long way, baby.

Published in the journal Nature, the Sussex team contends technology currently in use can: "Create 3-D but they are slow, short-lived and most importantly, rely on operating principles that cannot produce tactile and auditive content as well."

The team created a prototype called Multimodal Acoustic Trap Display (MATD) which can "simultaneously deliver visual, auditory, and tactile content," they said.

This uses what is known as "acoustophoresis" or sound waves that allows the hologram to be heard and even felt--a crucial element of realism.

"Even if not audible to us, ultrasound is still a mechanical wave and it carries energy through the air," explained Ryuji Hirayama, one of the scientists. "Our system directs and focuses this energy, which can then stimulate your skin to feel content."

Meanwhile, a woman with Azure Technologies and Microsoft Network recently demonstrated her personalized hologram capable of being everywhere at once while speaking any language she chose.
(Click here to watch the mind-bending video).

The Bible predicts the Antichrist will create a 'living' image of himself that can speak, demanding that people all over the globe worship it or die. He'll also have complete economic control over everything bought and sold, and the ability to exclude (and thus control) some to their death (Revelation 13:15-16).

Imagine if you will, this hologram technology combined with the advances in, say, facial recognition, AI, and implantable devices with spy ware--all in the hands of an anti-Christian dictatorial government energized by Satan.

Sounds like science fiction? Then ask yourself how it must have sounded 2,000 years ago when John the Apostle wrote about it.

A wise man once said: "There would be no earthly advantage in being alive when the Antichrist rules. We believe Christians will not be around to watch the debacle brought about by the cruelest dictator of all time." -- Hal Lindsey, author
"And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light" (Romans 12:11-12).
"Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand"  (Revelation 22:10).

"Gratitude: The Key To A Happy Brain?"

The formula for better physical health is simple:

Eat, exercise and sleep in the proper amounts equals better health. Simple? Yes. Easy? Noooooo... Especially during the holidays.

But did you know the same can be said for better mental health? Gratitude, positivity and thankfulness makes for a happier 'brain'.

Researchers from Indiana University published a study involving 43 subjects suffering from anxiety and/or depression. Half were assigned a simple gratitude exercise which required them to write letters expressing gratitude. The other half received "therapy as usual" but did not write gratitude letters.

Three months later all 43 underwent brain scans in which the area associated with gratitude and happiness was more active in those who wrote the letters.

What if an attitude of gratitude doesn't come naturally?

According to Shawn Achor, author of The Happiness Advantage "The same brain plasticity that allows you to master simple skills or sports, also allows you to train yourself to be more positive."

Achor contends that while we may think success will bring us happiness, the lab-validated truth is that happiness brings us more success. And who doesn't want that?

According to Got Questions.org:
"Feeling and expressing appreciation is good for us. Like any wise father, God wants us to learn to be thankful for all the gifts He has given us (James 1:17). It is in our best interest to be reminded that everything we have is a gift from Him. Without gratefulness, we become arrogant and self-centered. We begin to believe that we have achieved everything on our own. Thankfulness keeps our hearts in right relationship to the Giver of all good gifts."
November is a good time to do a little Happiness Homework and re-wire our brains to see things more positively. How about we update "You are what you eat" to "You are what you think"?

A wise man once said: "Human beings are prone to covetousness. We tend to focus on what we don't have. By giving thanks continually we are reminded of how much we do have. When we focus on blessings rather than wants, we are happier. When we start thanking God for the things we usually take for granted, our perspective changes. We realize that we could not even exist without the merciful blessings of God." -- Got Questions.org
"In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" --                   (1st Corinthians 5:18).

"Is The U.N. Trying To Kill Us Off?"

See the source image

It's official. Earth is in the midst of a 'climate emergency' and according to The Oxford University Press on behalf of The American Institute of Biological Sciences:
"Scientists have a moral obligation to clearly warn humanity of any catastrophic threat and to 'tell it like it is.'"
Last Tuesday, they did.

In a study published in the journal BioScience, the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), urged depopulation.

You read that right, gang--they want to get rid of us.

Why? Because for the last 40 years (when "global cooling" failed to materialize), they've been predicting global warming would eventually become a major (and we mean major with a capital M) threat. And while their goal was to get ahead of the problem before it was too late...well...one thing led to another and they got sidetracked.

According to Bloomberg:
"Now four decades later, a larger group of scientists is sounding another , much more urgent alarm. More than 11,000 experts from around the world are calling for a critical addition to the main strategy of dumping fossil fuels for renewable energy: there needs to be far fewer humans on the planet."
Yes indeedy people, some of us have got to go.

The population "must be stabilized--and, ideally, gradually reduced--within a framework that ensures social integrity," the report states.

(Hmmm--what's that suppose to mean?)

"The problem is enormous," says Bloomberg, "yet the signatories still manage to strike an upbeat tone."

And why shouldn't they be upbeat? Odds are they won't be among those eliminated.

InfoWars put it this way,
"In frighteningly Orwellian doublespeak, the IPCC concludes policies to reduce the population will actually 'act to sustain life' on Earth."
Yeah--but who's life?

A wise man once said: "God's ways lead to life and blessings, but many people would rather die than follow Him. They view God's ways as restrictive. Oppressive. Antiquated. Harmful. In reality, God's ways lead to human thriving. To liberty. To freedom. To fullness. As Jesus said, "I have come that they might have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). -- Michael Brown, Christian Post
"As long as the earth endures, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." (Genesis 8:22).

"'Light' Sleeping May Be Hazardous To Your Health"

What do heart attacks, car crashes, obesity, and depression have in common?

If you guessed 'daylight savings time', you'd be correct!

According to Dr. Phyllis Zee, a sleep researcher at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago:
"Time changes mess with sleep schedules, a potential problem when so many people are already sleep deprived.
"Research suggests that chronic sleep deprivation can increase levels of stress hormones that boost heart rate and blood pressure, and of chemicals that trigger inflammation."
Circadian biologists believe our biological clock is set by exposure to sunlight and darkness which regulates metabolism, blood pressure and hormones. Even a small disruption of only an hour a day has big consequences, claims Till Roenneberg, a circadian rhythm specialist at Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany.

And yet, for the last 100 years, in spite of the havoc it wreaks on our body, we continue to tinker with light. Why? To save a measly 3.5% in electricity.

Imagine if instead of messing with physical light and the sun, we, as a nation, turned back to the real Light and the Son?

'Got Questions Ministries' has some mind-blowing facts when it come to light (wait 4 it!):
"The Bible refers to God as light many times as in 1 John  1:5- 'This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is light...' and John 12:36- 'While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light...' or Job 24:13-'There are those who rebel against the light...' and John 1:7- 'He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light...' or Matthew 17:2-'And He was transfigured before them and His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light.'
"Many of these references to light appear to have another dimension to them, more than simply metaphorical or spiritual; they appear to indicate actual physical attributes of light to God as well.

"We live in a scientific and technological age, it is important for apologists to understand that while the Bible is not a science text book, when it does make references that can be verified by science, archeology and secular historical text, it is always correct.

" Second Peter 3:8 says, "Dear friends, don't forget that for the Lord one day is the same as 1,000 years, and one thousands years is the same as one day."

"So, let's test what we know from science about light and plug it into a formula:

  • 1,000 years = 1 day / square root of (1-v2/c2)
  • V solves to: 299,792,457 mi/sec or the speed of light
So, in other words, in one day (24 hours), light travels 1,000 years

" Second Peter 3:8 and Einstein's formula for Special Theory of Relativity is one proof (among many others) that the Bible is divinely inspired and that God's time is the universal standard of time set by the velocity of light.

"Einstein's scientific work eventually returned him to believe in God."
Jesus said, "I am the Light of the world, he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness..." -- John 8:12
A wise man once said: "He (Jesus) lights the path ahead of us, so we can see how to live. He removes the darkness of sin." -- Stanley S. Drane, Got Questions Ministries

'Death Is Not The End--It's A Doorway"

"What you believe about life and death matters because it determines your eternal destiny," says J.R. Hudberg of RBC Ministries.

"We don't like to talk about death, yet it comes for us all," he says.

"When our hearts stop beating and our brains shut down and our last breath rasps from our lungs, is that the end?

"Death is not the end," Hudberg contends. "It's a doorway."

And what we believe about Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection determines where that 'doorway' leads: Heaven or Hell said Jesus Christ Himself.

According to literary scholar, C.S. Lewis' famous argument (or "trilemma" as it's become known), Jesus was either a "Lunatic, Liar, or Lord".

Your choice between these three options will have eternal ramifications. Says Lewis, a former atheist:

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him:

"I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.
"That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic--on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg--or else he would be the Devil of Hell."

"You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is the Son of God, or else a madman or worse.

"You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to...

"Now it seems to me obvious that He was neither a lunatic nor a fiend; and consequently, however strange or terrifying or unlikely it may seem, I have to accept the view that He was and is God," Lewis opined.

So, was Jesus who He claimed to be? Or just some madman, or worse, a badman?

Your choice in life determines which doorway will open for you at death: Heaven or Hell.

A wise man once said: "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." -- C.S. Lewis

"Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me."  John 14:6
"I am the door. Those who come in through Me will be saved." John 10:9

"Snopes: Who's Fact-Checking The Fact-Checkers?"

By definition, fact-checkers should stick with the facts. Neutral, unbiased, neither left nor right,  facts.

Unfortunately, they do not.

The latest example? Snopes.

Recently, a high-ranking Ugandan government official announced his support for implementing the death penalty for homosexuality (and though Uganda later walked this back, you can imagine the international outrage--and rightly so).

So who gets smeared over this?

Uganda? Nope. Chick-fil-a.

Chick-fil-a is the Christian company liberal trolls love to hate and one of them lost no time tweeting the following falsehood:
"Today Uganda announced a bill to legalize murdering gay people. National Christian Organization paid a preacher to go to Uganda and help their lawmakers with the bill. Chick-fil-a funds National Christian Org. If you eat at Chick-fil-a, this is what your money goes to."
You know that old saying that a lie goes half way around the world before the truth even gets its shoes on? That's what happened here. This tweet went absolutely viral, dragging Chick-fil-a's reputation through the mud along with it.

Thousands of people believed this hoax because our old pal Snopes got the facts wrong.

According to the Daily Caller News Foundation:
"In ensuing tweets, the Twitter user posted links to two outdated articles, neither of which proved the tweet's claims."
The Daily Caller concluded after thoroughly reviewing tax returns that "there is no indication that Chick-fil-a is currently funding the National Christian Foundation (NCF), much less bankrolling changes in Ugandan legislation through the NCF.

And even Snopes conceded that there's no evidence that "NCF-funded groups are involved in any potential renewed efforts" to pass a death penalty for homosexuality in Ugandan.

And yet, Snopes rated the false tweet a "mixture of truth and fact" in its fact-check because of a simple mix up (on Snopes part) of who donated to who.

Meanwhile, the damage is done, and the moral of the story remains the same: Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

A wise man once said: "Snopes has got to do better. It's just not fair to let a company like Chick-fil-a be smeared by fake internet rumors, even if you disagree with their Christian stances and values. If our "fact-checkers" can't even acknowledge that, they're good for absolutely nothing at all." -- Brad Polumbo, Washington Examiner
"Lying lips are detestable to the LORD, but those who deal faithfully are His delight" (Proverbs 12:22).

"Did The Pope Deny Jesus Is God?"

Here we go again. Atheist Italian journalist, Eugenio Scalfari made headlines once more.

Can't place the name? He's the guy who's made a career out of "misquoting" his long-time friend, Pope Francis.

That's right gang--despite repeated claims from The Vatican press office that Scalfari's reports are unreliable, Pope Francis continues to grant him interviews.

According to the Catholic Church News:
In La Repubblica newspaper on Wednesday, Scalfari wrote: "Those who had the chance, as I have had different times, to meet him (Pope Francis) and speak to him with the greatest cultural confidence, know that Pope Francis conceives Christ as Jesus of Nazareth, a man, not God incarnate. Once incarnated, Jesus ceases to be a God and becomes a man until his death on the cross."
According to Scalfari, "When I happened to discuss these phrases, Pope Francis told me: "They are the definite proof that Jesus of Nazareth, once he became a man, even if he was a man of exceptional virtue, was not God at all."

As usual, the Holy See Press Office denies the allegations: "As already stated on other occasions, the words that Dr. Eugenio Scalfari attributes in quotation marks to the Holy Father during conversations with him cannot be considered as a faithful account of what has actually been said, but rather represent a personal and free interpretation of what he has heard, as is quite evident from what has been written today about the divinity of Jesus Christ."

Wait...what? Is that suppose to be a denial? Why doesn't the Pope come right out and say he believes Jesus is God and that Scalfari got it all wrong--again! (You may recall back in March 2018 Scalfari claimed the Pope told him that hell does not exist, contrary to Scripture and the Roman Catholic Church).

But no, instead Scalfari, a self-declared atheist and one-time fascist, is rewarded again and again with interviews and private audiences.

Meanwhile, Scalfari supports both abortion and euthanasia. Hmmm...can't help wondering if he supports the Pope.

A wise man once said: "Why on earth does Pope Francis still trust Eugenio Scalfari? He should disown not only the precise verbiage Scalfari reported in his piece, but the ideas foisted upon him therein--at least the ones that are manifestly heretical. The longer he does not the stronger the case becomes for believing he cannot."-- Christopher Altieri, Catholic Herald

"First Step Towards Total Chaos?"

The wild stock market swings of recent days have left investors gasping and with good cause.

Does the age-old "Buy & Hold" mantra still apply?

Based on historical performance the answer is 'Yes'...however some see things differently:

Financial expert Bill Holter says the "ability to prevent a crash no longer exists."

"The system has gotten too big...there's too much debt. Too many sovereign governments have bumped up against debt saturation. In the U.S., we are over 100% debt to GDP."

"You can't fix debt with more debt--but that's what they keep trying to do," he said. "What we need is a complete reset."

Holter's advice? If we get a bounce in the market, use it to get out.

Chris Martenson, of Peak Prosperity, has these words of wisdom: "What goes up must come down--and that's especially true for the world's many poorly-constructed financial bubbles, built out of nothing more than gauzy narratives and inflated with "hopium".

"Markets are quite possibly in crash mode right now, although events are unfolding so quickly--currency spikes, equity sell-offs, emerging markets routs and dislocations and commodity declines--that it's hard to tell for sure. However, that's usually the case right before and during big market declines," say Martenson.

'Further, most of the gains in financial assets engineered by the central banks were false and destined to burst because the were based on bubble technology, not actual returns."

Jim Rickards, author of The Death of Money, explains why China was unable to keep their limited free market under control: "...markets have a mind of their own," he says. "But the 'Empire' will strike back, they have an enormous arsenal of tools they can use to try to fight the bubble."

Good to know somebody is trying to fight the bubble, because according to Rickards, the U.S. Federal Reserve is now out of ammo and on a "Kamikaze Mission."

Nick Barisheff, CEO of Bullion Management Group (BMG) contends:
"We are living in an age of records in the financial world. The stock market is in its longest bull market in history and near all-time highs. The world has more debt than ever before while interest rates are near record lows, and some are negative in many countries for the first time ever. I have been in the business for 40 years, and this is the first time we have had a simultaneous triple bubble, a bubble in real estate, stocks and bonds all at the same time. So when we have a correction, it's going to be massive. The big problem is this triple bubble is sitting on a mountain of debt like never before."
So, should we 'buy & hold' or jump out & run?

Your guess is as good as ours.

A wise man once said:  "The central banks are panicking. They don't know what to do anymore...but it's nothing compared to what is coming. The panic that started in the summer was the first step towards total chaos in the world that we will be seeing in the months and years to come. Central bankers see it clearly. They know the banking system is absolutely on the verge of collapse." -- Egon von Greyerz, financial expert
"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." Mark 8:36-38

"Satan's Strategy"

See the source image

Back in 1965, radio commentator Paul Harvey predicted with chilling accuracy the strategy the devil has used to drag America to the brink of destruction. Read carefully, Harvey's 50-year old blast from the past and recognize it for what it was: A warning from God.
“If I were the devil, I wouldn’t be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree. So I’d set about however necessary to take over the United States.
I’d subvert the churches first—I would begin with a campaign of whispers.
With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do as you please. Do as you please..do as you please.”
To the young, I would whisper, “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around.
I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is “square”.
And the old, I would teach to pray. I would teach them to pray after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington…’
And then I’d get organized.  I’d educate authors on how to make lurid literature exciting, so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting.
I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa.
I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.
If I were the devil I’d soon have families that war with themselves, churches that war with themselves, and nations that war with themselves; until each in its turn was consumed.
And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames.
If I were the devil I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, and neglect to discipline emotions—just let those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.
Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography.
Soon I could evict God from the courthouse, and then the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress.
And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and deify science.
I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money.
If I were the devil I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.
If I were the devil I’d take from those who have and give to those who wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious.
What do you bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich?
I would question against extremes and hard work, and patriotism, and moral conduct.
I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on the TV is the way to be.
And thus I could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure.
In other words, if I were the devil I’d keep right on doing what he’s doing." --Paul Harvey, 1965

"The U.S. Is Shockingly Unprepared"

See the source image
Imagine, if you will, the power going down--not just at your house, but across several states. And not just for a few days, but for multiple weeks or even months.

In his book, Lights Out, investigative reporter Ted Koppel lays out just such a scenario.

Only  according to Ted, it isn't just a scenario.

"A major cyber attack on America's power grid is not only possible, but likely."

The devastation would include:

  • no running water
  • no sewage
  • no refrigeration or lights
  • a lack of food/medical supplies
  • no banks
  • widespread looting and deteriorating law and order
"A well-designed attack on just one of the nation's three electric power grids could cripple much of our infrastructure", says Koppel.

"And in the age of cyber-warfare, a laptop has become the only necessary weapon."

"Several nations hostile to the United States could launch such an assault at any time," he said.

"In fact, China and Russia have already penetrated the grid," according to a former Chief Scientist of the NSA. "They can take us down with a keystroke."

And then there's the independent actors like 'hacktivists' (not to mention terrorists!) that have the capability as well.

"It's not a question of if," says Cent-Com Commander General Lloyd Austin, "it's a question of when."

And yet, (surprise, surprise) the federal government HAS NO PLAN (unless you consider Homeland Security's warning to 'have extra batteries and a transistor radio a 'plan').

"The United States is shockingly unprepared," Koppel laments.

"While well-prepared for natural disasters, (the government) has no plan for the aftermath of an attack on the power grid," he said, and wonders how (or if) "the civilian population will survive."

Koppel's advice? "Take matters into your own hands. Prepare now for a catastrophe that is all but inevitable."

A wise man once said: "I personally believe that the reason the U.S. is not mentioned in end time prophecy is because we will suddenly cease to be a world power and will therefore play no significant role in end time events." -- Dr. David R. Reagan
"This is what the LORD says: 'Look! I am preparing a disaster for you and devising a plan against you. So turn from your evil ways, each one of you, and reform your ways and your actions. ' But they will reply, 'It's no use. We will continue with our own plans; we will follow the stubbornness of our evil hearts." Jeremiah 18:11-12
"A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences."  Proverbs 22:3

"Has Your Life Changed?"

The percentage of U.S. adults who say they are "absolutely certain" God exists
has slipped, according to Pew Research Center's Religious Landscape Study.

No surprise there--anyone with half a functioning brain cell can see God is no longer at the top of our national priority list.

And for the college student, the downward trend has accelerated even more. Christians are being mocked and ridiculed by a university system that insists science and God are mutually exclusive.

Physicist Frank J. Tipler, an expert in the field of quantum cosmology, begs to differ.

In his book, "The Physics of Christianity", the scientist "demonstrates that the essential beliefs of Christianity are wholly consistent with the laws of physics."

Tipler even illustrates a scientific foundation for the Virgin Birth, the Resurrection, and the Incarnation of Christ.

While interesting, scientific proof doesn't always result in saving faith.

Why? Because faith in Christ as Savior is not a head issue--it's a heart problem.

Intellectual belief in God will not get you into heaven. James 2:19 says:
"You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror."
Saving faith takes God at His word. The Bible is His Word and it says every one of us is a sinner separated from God.

The Good News? God is an equal opportunity Savior to all those who respond to Christ's death for their sin with genuine faith.

How do you know if your faith is genuine? Simply put--your life will change. Over time, you should see a transformation. If you don't--something is wrong.

1 John 2:3 says,
"And how can we be sure that we belong to Him? By obeying His commandments. If someone says, 'I belong to God', but doesn't obey God's commandments, that person is a liar and does not live in truth. But those who obey God's word really do love Him. That is the way to know whether or not we live in Him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Christ did."
In other words, we no longer live our old lifestyle of sexual immorality, lying, stealing, drugs, drunkenness, etc. We read God's word so we can know what His expectations are. We go to church--not to get saved--but because we are saved. We love the things of God: His word, His people, His ways (1 John 3:14).

In short, we work hard to prove we really are among those God has called and chosen (1 Peter 1:10).

A wise man once said: "The reality is--if God is at work in your life, then you will be able to see a notable change in your life. If nothing changes, it's very unlikely you have been saved. Odds are--you are not on the road that leads to Heaven." -- Jack Hibbs, Calvary Chapel Chino Hills
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away, behold the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Be absolutely sure you're going to Heaven.

"Is The U.S. Sowing Seeds Of Destruction?"

See the source image
When nature is allowed to run its course, you'll end up with a certain balance, especially when it comes to gender.

For instance, 105 male babies are born for every 100 females.

By age 30, the numbers become equal. Why? Because the death rate for boys is slightly higher than girls.

In other words, there is roughly one male for every marriage-age female.

Not so in China. Abortion based on gender has unnaturally stacked the deck in favor of boys.

The result? 40 million Chinese men facing life without a mate.

The Chinese would call this cause-and-effect (the end result from a certain action).

The Bible calls it 'reaping what you've sown'.

David Kupelian, author of The Snapping of the American Mind, believes the U.S. is sowing the seeds of its own destruction. Kupelian contends:
"We have a culture and a bureaucracy in which basically we're taught there is no God, there is no right and wrong, and the biblical morals that this country did pretty well with for several centuries are oppressive and racist and we need to get rid of them."
China thought they needed draconian family planning rules (e.g. murdering lots of baby girls). Decades later they've got 40,000,000 frustrated and angry men on their hands and a demographic bent towards violence and an illicit sex trade.

Kupelian believes "America the Beautiful" will morph into "America the Bizarre" if our nation continues on its current path. Only it won't take decades. It seems our people have already lost the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, male and female, and what's good and what is evil.
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life" Galatians 6:7-8.

A wise man once said: "It is a vain attempt to "mock" God for a Christian to think that if he sows to his flesh he can escape the harvest of destruction and judgment that comes upon those who participate in sin." -- Andrew Hill, Ph. D.

"Child's Play: Toys That Spy"

See the source image

What do the talking doll, "My Friend Cayla" and the "i-Que" robot have in common? They're both spies!

That's right gang--both toys are equipped with technology that is linked through an app to your smart phone and can:

  • ask children for very specific personal information
  • record and collect conversations
  • understand and respond to kids in real-time
  • send all collected intel on to the manufacturer (presumably to be used for marketing purposes)
How is this legal, you ask? Apparently, it shouldn't be. Consumer advocacy and privacy organizations have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) against the manufacturers, Genesis Toys and Nuance Communications, requesting an investigation:
"This complaint concerns toys that spy. By purpose and design, these toys record and collect the private conversations of young children without any limitations on collection, use, or disclosure of this personal information. The toys subject young children to ongoing surveillance and are deployed in homes across the United States without any meaningful data protection standards. They pose an imminent and immediate threat to the safety and security of the children in the United States."
The complaint goes on for 24 pages, but you get the idea--toys that spy are not just play things. They can be hazardous to your child's privacy or worse. Can anyone say 'Big Brother'?

A wise man once said: "If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself...Big Brother is watching you." -- George Orwell, 1984
"What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the housetops." Luke 12:3

"3 Ways 2 Win"

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

According to Greg Laurie of Harvest Crusade fame, "this verse touches upon three important facets of the Christian life that should give you great joy:
  • You have a new identity. When you accept Jesus Christ into your life, God gives you a new identity. You discover that you are not merely some product of random chance. You are not a speck in the universe. You are a child of God. And as God's child you can rest assured that you will be loved and cared for by your heavenly Father.
  • You have power to face life. With that new identity and hope in Christ, you also have the promise of the Holy Spirit's presence and power in your life. The Holy Spirit works constantly in your heart, helping you to understand God's Word and to  transform your attitudes and behaviors.
An expanded translation of Romans 15:13 says that by the power of the Holy Spirit, your whole life and outlook will be "radiant with hope". God has not left you to face life on your own. He has promised to guide you and strengthen you with His Spirit.
  • You have hope for the future. As a Christian, you have hope and knowledge that there is life beyond the grave. Your last breath on earth will be followed by your first breath in heaven.
The world offers many roads to happiness: sex, money, power, personal success. But they are all cheap and worthless substitutes in comparison to knowing that you are God's child and that you have the hope of heaven.

"This," says Laurie, "is the only road to lasting--indeed, eternal--joy."

A wise man once said: "There is only one kind of life that truly wins, and that is the one that places faith in the hands of the Savior. Until that is done, we are on an aimless course that runs in circles and goes nowhere."    --John Wooden, legendary UCLA basketball coach
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in Me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again. They are given eternal life for believing in Me and will never perish. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26)

"Zero Hour"

See the source image

In his classic commentary on The Book of Revelation, What The World Is Coming To, the late Chuck Smith, founder of Calvary Chapel states:
"The world is moving toward its zero hour. We're in the final countdown...The "birth-pains" have begun." (Matthew 24:8; Mark 13:8).
Doom & gloom? You betcha--if the birth-pains (or doom & gloom) were the only message.

"The Book of Revelation delves into grave details using remarkable symbols of judgment," proclaims S. Douglas Woodward of Faith-Happens. "Each broken seal discloses a new horror; each trumpet portends a new calamity; each vial grows increasingly more horrible."

"If we dwell on these images of doom, no doubt we too would become gloomy," cautions Woodward. "Nevertheless, the Bible consistently offers a starkly contrasted message: the greatest day for those who believe in Christ, comes on the worst day for those that don't."

In other words, the doom & gloom has a purpose. For the unbeliever, these "birth-pains" are a warning: seek God while He may be found; receive the redemption His Son suffered and died to purchase for you before it's too late.

For the believer and student of Bible prophecy, these same birth-pains are an amazing, faith-building, fear-of-God producing, awe-inspiring wonder to watch as events unfold exactly as God said they would in His word.

Remember, the purpose of Bible prophecy is not to predict the future, but to authenticate the message.

And what is the main message of the Bible?

Hope! God is the creator of everything. He has a plan and a purpose to redeem not only those of us who believe that Jesus died in our place and rose again as our Savior, but His entire creation as well.
"Now we live with a wonderful expectation because Jesus Christ rose again from the dead. For God has reserved a priceless inheritance for His children...It will be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead..." 1 Peter 1:3-6
Eventually, there will be a new heaven and a new earth where everything (including us) must be born again. But first, like any birth--there are birth pains.

A wise man once said: "Night is coming...a darkness that will cover this globe in suffering and sorrow such as we have never known. But we must not sit and wring our hands about the state of the world. God has provided a way to escape the coming night. Now is the time to tell everyone about the hope of a brand new world waiting for us." -- David Jeremiah, author
"So I pray that God who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in Him. May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
