"Drone Swarm Technology: aka 'Biblical Locusts'?"

While much of the world anticipates what changes a second Trump term will bring, the U.S. military has been experimenting with new strategies that will drastically advance the way wars are fought.

One of the most promising? Drone "swarm" technology, recently tested by the Office of Naval Research (ONR).

The new tool, dubbed LOCUST by the U.S. Navy, allows multiple drones to coordinate and swarm the enemy autonomously, and is designed to protect naval vessels against enemy attacks.

LOCUST--or Low-Cost Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Swarming Technology-is a program that marks a new era in autonomous warfare.

Imagine the tactical advantage of using a system that can launch swarming UAVs to overwhelm the enemy without any risk to the sailors or marines operating them.

"This level of autonomous swarming flight has never been done before," said Lee Mastroianni, program manager.

"UAVs that are expendable and reconfigurable will free manned aircraft and traditional weapons systems to do more, and essentially multiply combat power at decreased risk to the war fighter," he added.

Apparently, there's no down-side to the LOCUST and for an extra added attraction-
they may even be mentioned in the Bible.

Revelation 9: 3-11 describes a strange locust swarm that has "breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle..." Coincidence?

Maybe--or maybe 2,000 years ago the Apostle John, who was told simply to write down what he saw, couldn't quite figure out what he was seeing.

The LOCUST drones, with their swarm technology, look eerily insect-like. Isn't it possible John didn't have the vocabulary to describe 21st-century technology?

A wise man once said: "John had to describe in terms of his 1st-century knowledge what he saw. The prophecies can be understood only when we prayerfully seek to decipher what in today's vast arsenal of technical marvels fits best John's 1st-century description of them."  Hal Lindsey, Apocalypse Code
"This is a revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave Him concerning the events that will happen soon...John faithfully reported the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ--everything he saw" (REVELATION 1:1-2).

"Current Technology Described in Revelation?"

See the source image

Any sufficiently-advanced technology can seem indistinguishable from magic, especially waaaay back in, say, A.D. 95 when the Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation.

Remember, John was instructed to write down the things "that he saw" (Rev. 1:2) and most of what he saw was nearly 2000 years in the future.

Talk about mind-blowing future-shock! How would a 1st century prophet describe things like:
  • advanced attack helicopters
  • armored vehicles
  • biological and chemical weapons
  • fighter jets
  • nuclear warfare
Imagine the difficulty a primitive, non-technical man from the 1st century would have trying to make sense of modern advances and warfare--never mind trying to put it all in writing.

We take today's technological advances for granted, but back in John's day they must have seemed like magic.

In Revelation 13, John describes a statue that come to life and is able to speak. Some believe John is using symbolic language. We believe he's probably describing a technology.

"Holoportation" is a new type of 3-D capture technology that allows high-quality 3-D models of people to be reconstructed, compressed and transmitted anywhere in the world in real time. When combined with mixed reality, they are actually present in the same physical space. Communicating and interacting with remote users becomes as natural as face-to-face communication.

A wise man once said: "John was catapulted by God from one time period to another so that his extensive "visions" would have the authority of an eyewitness. The prophet then unknowingly encoded a warning for the generation in which these things would happen with conviction, accuracy and authority." -- Hal Lindsey, author
"He was permitted to give life to this statue so that it could speak. Then the statue commanded that anyone refusing to worship it must die" -- Revelation 13:15.
"Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near" -- Revelation 1:3.

"Strange Seismic Wave Circles Globe: 'Remarkably Weird', Says Scientists"

Last month a strange, 9,000 mph seismic wave rippled across our planet, leaving seismologist @ALomaxNet baffled, as he quickly put out an alert over Twitter.

National Geographic reports; "On the morning of November 11, just before 9:30 UT, a mysterious rumble rolled around the world.

"The seismic waves began roughly 15 miles off the shores of Mayotte, a French island sandwiched between Africa and the northern tip of Madagascar. The waves buzzed across Africa, ringing sensors in Zambia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. They traversed vast oceans, humming across Chile, New Zealand, Canada and even Hawaii nearly 11,000 miles away.

"These waves didn't just zip by; they rang for more than 20 minutes. And yet, it seems, no human felt them."

Researchers around the globe racked their brains for the source of the waves--"Could it be a meteor strike? A submarine volcano eruption? An ancient sea monster rising from the deep?" asked NatGeo.

"I don't think I've seen anything like it," says Göran Ekström, a seismologist at Columbia University who specializes in unusual earthquakes. "Many features of the waves are remarkably weird--from their surprisingly monotone, low-frequency "ring" to their global spread."

And though researchers are still chasing down an explanation for this geological mystery, scientists believe they may have a potential answer: The collapse of an underground magma chamber.

While interesting, this worldwide "seismic wave" doesn't compare to what the Bible predicts will happen someday in the future.

The 6th Seal of Revelation depicts a global earthquake that is so powerful it moves every mountain and island out of place. Revelation also mentions earthquakes in Chapters 8:5, 11:13 and 11:19 concluding with the greatest earthquake in mankind's history.
"And there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as has not occurred since men were on the earth"  (Revelation 16:18).
Unfortunately, it appears today's seismologists really haven't seen anything yet.

A wise man once said: "Various Scriptures warn us that the end-time events will come to pass suddenly and unexpectedly. God issued a warning that we should not be weighed down by the cares of this life so that the day of Christ's return arrives when we are not prepared. For it will come at a time when the world least expects it." -- Andre Van Blekum, Life, Hope & Truth
"But you aren't in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won't be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief...So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be sober" (1 Thessalonians 5: 4,6).

"Christ's Imminent Return: How Close Are We?"

Christian author and founder of  The Berean Call , Dave Hunt died in 2013. He left behind a legacy of expert scholarship, impeccable research, and a wide variety of in-depth studies we can all benefit from. He also left us with a couple of warnings:
  • "There are two solemn and related warnings which Christ gave concerning His coming again. First of all, He repeatedly and earnestly declared that He was coming very soon and should be expected at any moment. That He hasn't come in more than 1900 years, far from discrediting that promise, makes it all the more urgent that we heed it in our day. By heaven's reckoning, Christ has been gone a very short time; and His coming is nearer now than it ever was."
  • "Secondly, He warned us about preoccupation with the things of this life. Christ knew the attraction which the pleasures and ambitions of this world, wicked though we realize it to be, can have for each of us. So He warned us that unless we kept the thoughts of His return fresh in our hearts at all times, we would be caught by surprise at His coming."
Dave Hunt was adamant about the fact that there are no signs for the rapture of the church. Not even one. There is absolutely nothing that must proceed it. Jesus said that He would come like a thief: "At such an hour as you think not" (Luke 12:40). Some translations say He's coming when you least expect Him. There are at least twenty warnings in the Bible telling us to watch, be ready, and stay awake.

Why? Because complacency is human nature. Remember the parable of the 10 bridesmaids in Matthew 25? "When the bridegroom was delayed, they all lay down and slept" (emphasis added).

The world is asleep right now and sadly, so is the church. And yet:
  • Israel is back in the land (Ezekiel 37:21)
  • surrounded by enemies (Psalm 83)
  • Iran , Russia & Turkey have a military alliance for the first time in history (Ezekiel 38:5)
  • technology has advanced to the degree that everything predicted in the Scripture is possible for the first time in history (Revelation 13)
  • the financial world is sagging under its debt load (Revelation 6:5-6; James 5:1-3)
  • sin is rampant; deception everywhere (Matthew 24:9)
  • everything has gone super sized (i.e. earthquakes, storms, droughts, floods etc.) (Luke 21:25-26)
People--these are signs for the Tribulation and the Second Coming, not the Rapture, two distinct events that take place 7 years apart.

No one knows the day or the hour of the Rapture, but once it comes (when we least expect it) and the covenant (peace treaty?) of Daniel 9:27 is confirmed,  the Second Coming can be calculated to the very day. Everything hinges upon the covenant (or peace treaty signing) because it is the kickoff of the last 7 years as detailed in the Book of Daniel (Daniel 9:20-27).

Jesus said, "Watch out! Don't let me find you living in careless ease and drunkenness, and filled with the worries of this life. Don't let that day catch you unaware, as in a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. Keep a constant watch. And pray that, if possible, you may escape these horrors and stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:34-36).

Why did Jesus warn us to keep a constant watch? Because the signs of the Tribulation will all be there in the distance for anyone who is aware and watching to see. For those who are not watching it will be "business as usual right up until the hour when the Son of Man returns" (Luke 17:30).

"So keep a sharp lookout! Don't let Him find you sleeping when He arrives without warning. What I say to you I say to everyone: Watch for His return!" (Mark 13:35-37).

A wise man once said: "How close are we? Christ could come at any moment--before I finish writing this page, or before you finish reading it. Does that thought bring joy or regret--perhaps even fear? The honest answer to that vital question reveals one's spiritual condition and the measure of one's love for Him." -- Dave Hunt (1926-2013)

"Revelation: The Book of Advanced Technology?"

While most of civilization was advancing one small step at a time, the Book of Revelation took a giant leap into the future.

Any sufficiently-advanced technology can seem indistinguishable from magic, especially waaaaay back in, say, A.D. 95 when the Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation.

"Time of the Signs: Zero Hour"

Is it just us, or have you noticed a quickening in the news cycle, too? Wash, rinse, repeat...one crisis after another with each one seemingly worse than the last.

In his classic commentary on The Book of Revelation, What The World Is Coming To, the late Chuck Smith, founder of Calvary Chapel states:
"The world is moving toward its zero hour. We're in the final countdown...The "birth-pains" have begun." (Matthew 24:8; Mark 13:8).
Doom & gloom? You betcha--if the birth-pains (or doom & gloom) were the only message.

"The Book of Revelation delves into grave details using remarkable symbols of judgment," proclaims S. Douglas Woodward of Faith-Happens. "Each broken seal discloses a new horror; each trumpet portends a new calamity; each vial grows increasingly more horrible."

"If we dwell on these images of doom, no doubt we too would become gloomy," cautions Woodward. "Nevertheless, the Bible consistently offers a starkly contrasted message: the greatest day for those who believe in Christ, comes on the worst day for those that don't."

In other words, the doom & gloom has a purpose. For the unbeliever, these "birth-pains" are a warning: seek God while He may be found; receive the redemption His Son suffered and died to purchase for you before it's too late.

For the believer and student of Bible prophecy, these same birth-pains are an amazing, faith-building, fear-of-God producing, awe-inspiring wonder to watch as events unfold exactly as God said they would in His word.

Remember, the purpose of Bible prophecy is not to predict the future, but to authenticate the message.

And what is the main message of the Bible?

Hope! God is the creator of everything. He has a plan and a purpose to redeem not only those of us who believe that Jesus died in our place and rose again as our Savior, but His entire creation as well.
"Now we live with a wonderful expectation because Jesus Christ rose again from the dead. For God has reserved a priceless inheritance for His children...It will be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead..." 1Peter 1:3-6
Eventually, there will be a new heaven and a new earth where everything (including us) must be born again. But first, like any birth--there are birth pains.

A wise man once said: "Night is coming...a darkness that will cover this globe in suffering and sorrow such as we have never known. But we must not sit and wring our hands about the state of the world. God has provided a way to escape the coming night. Now is the time to tell everyone about the hope of a brand new world waiting for us." -- David Jeremiah, author
"So I pray that God who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in Him. May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

"Endtimes Cash Crash?"

If the Bible does not speak directly about a global economic collapse, why have prophecy teachers always taught there would be one? Because, just as the doctrine of the Trinity is never spelled out for us, it is undeniably there. An economic collapse is there too--by implication.

One only has to read the Book of Revelation to get a glimpse of what's coming. There will be wars, pestilence, famine and terrible natural disasters, like massive earthquakes, unprecedented drought, heatwaves, and humungus hailstones. Revelation 6 releases the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse; #3 mentions food prices. "When the Lamb broke the third seal, I heard the third living being say, "Come!" And I looked up and saw a black horse, and its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. And a voice from among the four living beings said, "A loaf of wheat bread or three loaves of barley for a day's pay. And don't waste the olive oil and wine." This rider on the black horse takes prosperity from the earth and replaces it with famine and hyperinflation.

The Book of James doesn't mince words when it says in Chapter 5: "Look here, you rich people, weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you. Your wealth is rotting away and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. Your gold and silver have become worthless. The very wealth you were counting on will eat away your flesh in hell. This treasure you have accumulated will stand as evidence against you in the last days."

These Scriptures (among others) paint a bleak economic picture, but Revelation 13:16-17 is the clincher: "He (Antichrist) required everyone--great and small, rich and poor, slave or free--to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. And no one could buy or sell anything with out that mark..."

Well, we don't know about you--but most people would probably balk at giving up their money in exchange for a mark...unless, of course, their money didn't cut the mustard anymore. The Bible makes it clear these judgments will encompass the entire planet. Who could have guessed 2,000 years ago we'd end up with a global economy?

This doesn't necessarily mean that our current global economic troubles are in any way connected to Bible prophecy. It's possible the world will recover, (or at least seem to do so).

In fact, some Scriptures imply things will appear to be humming along like normal just before the end. In Luke 17, Jesus says: "When the Son of Man returns, the world will be like the people were in Noah's day. In those days before the flood, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came to destroy them all..yes, it will be 'business as usual' right up to the hour when the Son of Man returns."

1 Thessalonians 5 says that Day will come "...expectantly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, 'All is well; everything is peaceful and secure', then disaster will fall upon them as suddenly as a woman's birth pains begin when her child is born. And there will be no escape."

Sounds contradictory until you remember that there are yet two comings of Christ:
  1. The Rapture of the church. The church will be rescued, but the world at large will be caught completely off guard and left behind to endure the time of trial that will come upon the whole earth. (Revelation 3:10).
  2. The Second Coming of Christ.  Comes 7 years later, when the world is neck deep in judgment.
We're betting the final economic collapse comes sometime between these two events. It's possible the sudden disappearance of millions of people triggers the collapse. Imagine the panic, the absolute chaos.

So, if the Bible predicts a global economic collapse, are we seeing the beginnings of it now? We don't know. It could be just another economic cycle, or it could be one of those famous 'birth pains'. Only time will tell.

"Mega-Disaster Predicted"

The New Yorker is scaring the daylights out of West Coast readers this week with their terrifying story, "The Really Big One."

The subtitle? "An earthquake will destroy a sizable portion of the coastal Northwest. The question is when."

According to seismologists: "The next full-margin rupture of the Cascadia subduction zone will spell the worst natural disaster in the history of the continent."

While everyone's heard of the San Andreas fault line (capable of a powerful 8.2), few have ever heard of the Cascadia subduction zone.

If San Andreas = the "Big One"
The Cascadia subduction zone = Mega-Quake Plus

Plus what, you ask?

Because of its size and location (700 miles long and off the coast of the Pacific Northwest) and the fact that  it's a subduction fault line  (with one tectonic plate sliding underneath another), an 8.7 - 9.2 mega-quake is possible.

Oh, and the Plus? The "seven-hundred mile liquid wall that will reach the Northwest coast, on average, fifteen minutes after the earthquake begins," says The New Yorker.

"By the time the shaking has ceased and the tsunami has receded, the region (from Northern California to Canada) will be unrecognizable."

So when will all this happen? Seismolegists contend this fault line rips roughly every 240 years (give or take). The last one happened 300 years ago. That puts us 60 years over due.

A wise man once said: "The Bible predicts a wide variety of cosmic and natural events will occur to signal the end times. Great earthquakes are only one of the many 'birthpains' we should expect." -- Andrew Hill, Ph.D

"Then there came flashes of lightening, rumbling peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake." Revelation 16:18

"Does the Bible Predict End Time Beheading of Christians?"

We've all heard the reports coming out of Iraq: Islamic terrorist group ISIS, engaged in the wholesale slaughter of Christians, are also beheading the children of Christians.

Hard to believe? Yes. So hard, in fact, that some have chocked it up to urban legend.

Yet the evidence is mounting as gruesome pictures and videos surface.

Horrific? Yes. Unexpected? No.

In the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John was instructed to write down the things that must come to pass in the Last Days.

After 19 chapters detailing end time events, John writes: " Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for proclaiming the word of God" (Revelation 20:4).

Beheaded. And while the martyrs of Revelation take place during the Great Tribulation period, current events lend credence to the literal interpretation of Scripture.

The Bible warns us to expect increasing persecution as the Day draws near. The Middle East is already brimming over with it.

"A Christian holocaust is in our midst," says Mark Arabo, a Chaldean-American spokesperson trying to raise awareness of Christian persecution. "A Christian genocide is being conducted by ISIS", and they "are absolutely killing every Christian they see. "ISIS Beheading Children" report. (No graphic images)

Let's not assume the West will be exempt.

"Remember the word I said to you...If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you...because they do not know Him who sent Me" (John 15:21).

A wise man once said: "As I read the news, I can't help but wonder if we're in the last hours."  --Franklin Graham, Samaritan's Purse

"The Significance of Sevens"

Give the Scriptures even a cursory reading and the number seven will appear over and over again, about--you guessed it--700 times!

Commonly known as 'the number of completeness or perfection', 'seven' derives much of its reputation from both the Book of Revelation (where it appears  54 times) and the Book of Genesis, where it's tied to creation.

In fact, the word created is used 7 times describing God's creative work in Genesis, along with a 7-day week and a 7th day Sabbath. And that's just for starters:

  • Noah took 7 of every clean animal onto the ark...
  • ...and after 7 days, it rained.
  • Jacob served 7 years for Leah and 7 for Rachel.
  • Egypt had 7 years of plenty and 7 of famine.
  • There are 7 Feast Days on the Jewish calendar.
Jesus taught 7 parables in the Gospel of Matthew and performed 7 miracles on the Sabbath. Mary Magdalene had 7 devils cast out and one must forgive 70 times 7 times.

In the Book of Revelation there are:
  • 7 churches
  • 7 angels to the 7 churches
  • 7 seals
  • 7 trumpet judgments
  • 7 bowl judgments
  • 7 thunders
  • a beast with 7 heads which are really 7 mountains on which a woman sits.
The number '7' is prominent in both the Old and New Testaments and signifies:
  • God's perfection
  • sovereignty
  • holiness
All of nature is marked with patterns of '7'; for example:
  • 7 basic musical notes
  • 7 colors in a rainbow
  • 7 directions (left, right, up, down, forward, back, and center
  • 7 Wonders of the Ancient World
  • 7 continents on the earth
'7' and its multiples permeate everything in and around us. The very cells in our bodies take 7 years to fully regenerate.

Even unbelievers associate the number '7' with good luck. What they may not realize is the association of the number '7' with God.

"Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made."-- Genesis 2:3.

A wise man once said: "By God's blessed inactivity on this seventh day, He showed that He was satisfied with the work He had done." -- Moishe Rosen, Jews for Jesus

"End Time Technology: Catching Up With Revelation?"

For centuries, much of what the Book of Revelation predicted looked like science fiction. Not anymore...

Engineers have developed the first insect-inspired vehicles, opening the door to an entirely new class of machine: "the microdrone" -- Popular Science Rise of Insect Drones

The Book of Revelation predicts the rise of a freaky type of locust.

Are you thinking what we're thinking?

Could those 'locusts' John describes in Chapter 9 of Revelation be drones?

And what about that giant 3-D hologram the Turkish Prime Minister projected into the sky last week (1-29-2014)?

Revelation 13:15 describes something that must have seemed magical back in John's day. But could he be trying to describe a hologram?

"He (the false prophet) was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed." - Revelation 13:15

And let's not forget the ever-popular Mark of the Beast.

"He (the beast) causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." - Revelation 13:16-17

Is it a microchip? A tattoo? Or maybe both?

As you can see people, the Book of Revelation, written 2,000 years ago is waaaaay ahead of its time.

Next time someone tells you the book cannot be taken literally--show them this blog.

A wise man once said: "The central message of the Book of Revelation is clear: God is in control of all history, Christ is coming back; and He will come in judgement, rewarding those who have remained faithful to Him." James Balard, Th.D
