If America empowers a regime that openly calls for Israel's destruction, there will be consequences. Not from Israel, but from God.

God will not abandon His people, but He will judge those who do.

So is Trump's Iran "peace plan" (aka 'Memorandum Of Understanding or MOU) good or bad?

Because eschatological views vary widely, mainstream consensus on whether the peace plan is a step foreward or backward doesn't exist.

Ask 10 different "experts" and you'll get 10 different opinions. Here are  two:

According to Amir Tsarfati, founder of Behold Israel, and a former IDF major, the deal is "shocking, troubling and a major disappointment."

Tsarfati views the deal as a betrayal of Israel and strongly implies America has turned its back on its closest ally.

Israel, he believes, has been sidelined, not even given the full text of the MOU, while others like Qatar, Pakistan, and Saudis were. To make matters worse, Israel now faces pressure to stand down while still threatened by Iranian proxies. He sees this as empowering the IRGC rather than weakening it.

Victor Davis Hanson (VDH) sees things differently and is very bullish on the deal, praising it as resulting from Trump's "maximum pressure" campaign that left Iran economically devastated and militarily crippled.

"Iran is now opening the Strait of Hormuz, destroying enriched uranium, and making concessions it wouldn't have otherwise," Hanson says.

While skeptical of the regime's long-term reliability, VDH sees the MOU as buying time, advancing American interests, and lowering the cost of oil.

How does God see it? We're not sure, but we know from Scripture no one (not even America) will defend Israel in the end.
