In case you haven't heard, 'The Chosen' is the most successful crowd-funded television project of all time.
Though it was initially released on the Christian streaming service Vid Angel for a fee, the producers felt led by God to take a leap of faith and offer the series entirely free of charge.
Since then, funding for the project has quadrupled, and its popularity has exploded into a global phenomenon.
'The Chosen' isn't the first major project in Hollywood to depict the life of Christ, but it is among the most unique and well done.

And while God may use a television series to draw people to His Son (as thousands report He has), the doctrine of election (being chosen by God) is one of the most hotly debated mysteries of the Christian life.
Does God really choose us or do we choose Him?
According to Got Questions.org: "Historically, there have been two major interpretations of the concept of God's choosing us.
Behind door #1: Calvinism teaches that God's choosing means the believer has nothing to do with his own salvation; even the faith of the believer is itself a gift.
Behind door #2: Arminian teaching emphasizes the believer's choice and suggests that God's choice is based on God's knowledge of what the believer would choose.
Got Questions.org believes there is a third door: God is sovereign--He chose us before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1-4), but He places the responsibility of faith upon the individual (Ephesians 2:8).
In other words--God chooses those who choose Him through faith in Christ.
"For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love He predestined us for adoption into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will" (EPHESIANS 1: 4-5).
As the days we live in grow ever more dark and the time that remains is shorter than ever before-make your choice firm and don't delay. Today is the day of salvation. No one is promised tomorrow.
A wise man once said: "The seal or mark of ownership in believers' lives is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our guarantee that God will give us everything He promised. Interestingly, the Greek word for guarantee can also be used to indicate an engagement ring. As Christ is the Bridegroom and the church is the bride, so the Holy Spirit is the sign we belong to Him." -- Philip W. Comfort, Ph.D.
"And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart" (JEREMIAH 29:13).
