"10 Steps to Tyranny"

"Recent history has profound lessons for us in the U.S. today about how fascist, totalitarian, and other repressive leaders seize and maintain power, especially in what were once democracies.

"The Founders of this nation were so deeply familiar with tyranny and the habits and practices of tyrants that they set up our checks and balances precisely out of fear of what is unfolding today.

"We are seeing these same kinds of tactics now closing down freedoms in America, turning our nation into something that in the near future could be quite other than the open society in which we grew up and learned to love liberty.

"The secret is that these leaders all tend to take very similar, parallel steps," said liberal author Naomi Wolf, former adviser to President Bill Clinton and whose career has defined her as an outspoken proponent for Democrat policies.

That's right, gang, the warning above was written by a Lefty.

And now Wolf is sounding another, more urgent alarm:

"We're absolutely moving into what I call 'Step 10'", she said, referencing the book she wrote, The End of America:Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot, which details the ten steps to a Totalitarian Police State.

"Whether they're on the left or right, they always do the same ten things and now we're at something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime, Wolf said. "It is Step 10 and that's suspension of the rule of law, that's when you start to be a police state, and we're here.

And so, for that matter, is the whole world.

One of the identities used for the coming Antichrist in the Bible is the term "The Lawless One" (2 Thessalonians 2). But before The Lawless One makes his appearance, the earth has to be conditioned for his arrival.

Are we seeing the beginnings of that now?

And then the lawless one will be revealed, who the LORD will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. "Operation Warp Speed"

Famed constitutional scholar Alan Dershowitz isn't backing down even though he caught major blow-back for opening his rather sizable pie hole.

 In an interview last Sunday, Dershowitz said that the government has a constitutional right to forcibly vaccinate people.

"Let me put it very clearly," he said. "You have no constitutional right to endanger the public and spread the disease, even if you disagree. You have no right not to be vaccinated, you have no right not to wear a mask, you have no right to open up your business.

"And," he continued, "if you refuse to be vaccinated, the state has the power to literally take you to a doctor's office and plunge a needle into your arm."

The Harvard Law School emeritus was referring to the state police power doctrine derived in part from the 10th Amendment, where the Supreme Court has recognized each state's "police power". This gives the state authority to enact health laws, including vaccination and quarantine, to protect public health against a contagious disease.

Meanwhile, the new federal plan to produce a coronavirus vaccine, dubbed "Operation Warp Speed" by President Trump (because it "means big and it means fast") is chugging full steam ahead.

The goal? To accelerate the development of a proven COVID-19 vaccine, then manufacture and distribute it throughout America ASAP. "Hopefully by the end of the year," said Trump. Oh, and guess who's going to be distributing the vaccine--the military.

So what's the Problem? In a Yahoo! News / You Gov poll this month, nearly 1 in 5 Americans said they would not take a coronavirus vaccine.

Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, fears it's the name of the initiative--Operation Warp Speed--that is scaring people off.

"They think, oh my God, they're jumping over all these steps and they're going to put us at risk," Fauci said.

We think he nailed it. Rushing to complete a process in a matter of months that typically takes years seems reckless to us, and we are not by any means anti-vaxxers.

A wise woman once said: "Although I have been vaccinated myself and vaccinated my kids for the typical childhood diseases and have no issue with that, the thought of a vaccine being rushed through trial and forced on us makes me very nervous." -- a newly skeptical woman

"Amazon: Capturing Your Most Intimate Moments?"

It's true, people. Amazon workers really are listening to our "private" conversations. And while we've all suspected it was happening--now we've got it from the horse's mouth.

 The company has admitted that not only are they listening in on us, but they're recording and transcribing what they hear.

Bloomberg reports that Amazon has staff around the globe who's only job is transcribing recordings pulled from Echo customers' private conversations.

In an emailed statement to Mail Online, an Amazon spokesperson said:

"We only annotate an extremely small sample of Alexa voice recordings in order to improve the customer experience. For example, this information helps us train our speech recognition and natural language understanding system, so Alexa can better understand your requests, and ensure the service works well for everyone."

Seriously? Did they just say they're recording some of our most private conversations for our own good?

The Daily Mail reported Amazon staff have admitted listening in on people singing in the shower, discussing bank account details, and conducting other intimate exchanges.

But we shouldn't worry because "all information is treated with high confidentiality."

Oh really? But what happens when staffers overhear distressing situations like a child screaming for help, or the two instances when they heard what seemed to be a sexual assault occurring?

Experts say it's only a matter of time before law enforcement is granted access to listen in on us, too.

And if you thought you were off the hook because you don't own an Alexa--think again. It's likely Apple and Google use similar protocol with human reviewers eavesdropping on content from Siri and Assistant.

And while you're at it--proceed with caution regarding any device sporting a microphone or a camera (such as Echo Spot or even your smart phone). Big Brother now has big ears, big eyes and a long reach.
