While Americans were busy gasping over the Blue Tsunami, 33+ countries, spanning six continents, officially issued emergency preparedness campaigns urging households to stock up on food, water, and essential supplies.
Why? Nobody seems to know. But that hasn't stopped social media speculation--ranging from cyberattacks to the next global war--from running wild.
Our advice? Take a deep breath and enjoy the holidays, because the odds of a zombie apocalypse leading to the collapse of civilization is probably pretty slim (at least for now).
That's not to say you shouldn't store the basic preparedness essentials because let's face it gang, natural disasters do happen. Cyberattacks could happen. Zombie apocalypse...well...who knows? Best to be ready for anything with extra:
- -water: 1 gallon per person per day (minimum 3-day supply, ideally 2 weeks), water purification tablets, a filter or LifeStraw as backup
- -food: non-perishable, easy-to-eat items (canned goods, peanut butter, dried fruit, nuts) for at least 3 days or better yet, 1-2 weeks; along with a manual can opener
- -first aid: medicines, and hygiene supplies (and let us never forget the all-important toilet paper!)
- -flashlights, batteries, matches, radio and Cash
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days" (2 TIMOTHY 3:25).
