"Android Worship: Preview Of The Beast?"

What is 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 60 kilograms, has an open head of exposed aluminum wires on top of a mechanical body and is able to look at you, listen and speak?

If you guessed--the new robot named Mindar, modeled after the Japanese Goddess of Mercy, you'd be right.

That's right, folks. Buddhists at Kodaiji Temple in Japan have begun worshiping a robot.

According to The Diplomat:
"Recently, the famed 400 year-old Kodaiji Temple in Kyoto unveiled a modern makeover. The world's first sultra-chanting android deity, modeled after Kannon, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, was introduced to the public last week. Kannon is worshiped by thousands of temples in Japan as a deity who helps people in distress; now the country's fascination with robotics has made its way into that worship."
Built to be gender-neutral, the android has special features designed to evoke both feminine and masculine qualities.

"Everything depends on the person who is watching the robot," explains Kohei Ogawa, Associate Professor of Intelligent Robotics, who worked on the inception of Mindar. "If someone wants to treat the android as a man, there will be some elements that represent a male form and vice versa."

Geoffrey Grider, of Now The End Begins, believes these developments are a harbinger of things to come.

"In Revelation 13, we see the frightening picture of the beast that is brought to life that is able to speak and kill. The beast demands worship at the tip of a sword. But you don't have to wait for the time of Jacob's trouble to begin in order to see people worshiping the image of a beast brought to life. The fine folks at the Kodaiji Buddhist Temple in Japan are happy to demonstrate that for you."
"And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed." (Revelation 13:15)
Even Elon Musk doesn't like where artificial intelligence is going.

"I have exposure to the most cutting edge AI and I think people should be really concerned about it. I keep sounding the alarm bell."

Apparently, no one is listening.

A wise man once said: "With artificial intelligence, we are summoning the demon. In all those stories where there's the guy with the pentagram and the holy water, it's like, 'Yeah he's sure he can control the demon.' But it doesn't work out."  Elon Musk, inventor
