"Does The Bible Predict Global Warming?"

A "heat dome" has settled over the southwestern U.S. and forecasters have issued excessive heat warnings to: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Utah as temps in some areas approach 120 degrees.

"We are seeing heat and drought in the Southwest United States like we haven't seen since the Dust Bowl of the 1930s," said Michael Snyder, author of Living a Life That Matters.

Meanwhile, wildfires created "a biblical disaster" in Greece that has killed at least 74 people, destroyed over 1,000 homes and injured more than 150 victims, as wind-driven forest fires turned the skies over Athens "Apocalyptic" orange from the smoke, reports the UK Edition of The Sun.

And then there's Japan. "The country logged its highest-ever temperature at 106 degrees, near Tokyo on Monday afternoon," according to Japan's Kyoto news agency. The blistering heat has claimed 40 lives and left an estimated 10,000 people hospitalized across Japan, with no end in sight.

And that ain't all, folks. The New York Daily Intelligence reports, "A global heat wave is in progress, and in Sweden, the Arctic Circle is on fire."

The list of areas experiencing extreme temperatures keeps going: An Algerian city earlier this month broke the record for the highest temperature ever in Africa when it hit 124.3 degrees. A city in Oman recorded the highest low temperature--109 degrees-- ever recorded on Earth. In Quebec, more than 90 people were killed by extreme heat, while experts warn South Asia may soon become "too hot for humans to survive."

Clearly Global Warming is a hot topic.

According to Christian website, Got Questions, "Global warming 'facts' are notoriously hard to come by. One of the few facts universally agreed upon is that the current average temperature of Earth is indeed rising at this time." The Big Question? What's causing it?

GotQuestions.org provides 12 fascinating bullets points regarding these "facts".

So does the Bible predict global warming? Yup--but not in the way you're probably thinking. The Bible predicts a very sudden and extreme form of global warming the world has never (and we mean never seen before).
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up."  2 Peter 3:10

"Far-left Turn = Twilight Zone 4 Dems"

While the MSM is busy melting -down over the Helsinki Summit, mainline Democrats have apparently been thrust into The Twilight Zone.

Don't believe it? Ask Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who failed to win her party's endorsement last weekend for being too "conservative" in favor of faaaaaarrrr left candidate Kevin de Leon, who out-radicalizes even the far-left.

"For Feinstein, the party's decision to back de Leon was even more remarkable this time around, since she trounced him by more than 30 percent in last month's primaries," said Tony Perkins of Family Research Council.

Meanwhile, Democratic-Socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shocked the political world when she bested the longtime incumbent in New York's primary election last month. What's she up to this month? Mobilizing protesters to "occupy" pretty much everything in sight that has to do with immigration; border crossings, airports and ICE offices nationwide. You name it--they'll occupy it--in an attempt to "Abolish ICE" and oppose immigration enforcement.

Even though her improbable win made her an overnight progressive superstar, some House Democrats accuse her of using her new found star power to attack moderate Democrats.

Speculation about the future of the Democratic Party is running rampant, as a new poll reveals 73% of Democratic voters want a "fresh face" for their party's presidential nominee.

Suddenly, the DNC has a dilemma: Will over-the-top-left-wing extremists (like Kevin de Leon and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) be the "fresh face" Democratic voters are hoping for? OR are they a radical left flank, threatening to divide the party and undermine its chances in the mid-term elections?

"Heartland Democrats are begging the DNC to get back to basics," said Perkins. "When your own party believes you're out of touch with mainstream America, you're in trouble." Or maybe you've gone a bridge too far, veering off course into...The Twilight Zone.

A wise man once said: "We are a people and nation in imminent danger. We mock God, ridicule His Word and His ways, and flaunt gross immorality. Only Almighty God can deliver us, and it is our fervent prayer as we go across America, that He will hear our prayers and heal our land. He is our only hope." -- Franklin Graham
"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is." (Romans 12:2)

"Test Yourself: Are You Really In The Faith?"

Have you ever stopped to consider what your "worldview" is?

Hmmm--nope? Well, maybe you should.

According to the American Culture and Faith Institute, "A worldview is simply the intellectual, and emotional filter through which we experience, interpret, and respond to the world."

And guess what? It begins developing early (before 2-years old) and is almost fully formed by the time we hit our teens.

That worldview helps us to identify:

  • who we want to be
  • how we want to live
  • what we consider right and wrong
It's also our moral compass. And if our behavior conflicts with our worldview--we feel uncomfortable, or bad about ourselves.

Last year the American Culture and Faith Institute conducted a survey to determine what percentage of U.S. adults has a biblical worldview.

A biblical worldview is defined as "seeing life through a biblical lens, using scriptural principals and perspectives as the basis for our decision making and behavior."

Because a worldview is a combination of what we believe and what we do, the survey includes 20 questions about our beliefs and 20 questions about our behavior.

The goal? "To become an Integrated Disciple--someone who has blended their beliefs and behavior into a life that is reflective of the life of Jesus Christ."

"Life After Death: Make Your Reservations Now"

"If you ever wondered what happens when we die or if near-death experiences are real, The Afterlife Conference will answer all your questions...and more!" (or so the Original Afterlife Awareness Conference claims).

Yes indeedy, friends and neighbors, according to the Afterlife Conference and their "skilled" facilitators, we too can have all the answers...(and more!).

If "death-midwifery", after-death communication, or new and improved meditation practices are what you're looking for--then look no further--this conference has all that...(and more!).

But are all their wild claims true? Christian website Got Answers.org puts it this way: "The existence of life after death is a universal question. Job speaks for all of us by stating, "Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He springs up like a flower and withers away; Like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure...if a man dies, will he live again? (Job 14:1-2, 14). Like Job, all of us have been challenged by this question. Exactly what happens to us after we die? Do we simply cease to exist? Does everyone go to the same place, or do we go to different places?"

"According to the Bible, you have two options to choose from when it comes to deciding where you will spend your life after death," says Greg Laurie, Senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship.

  1. Heaven
  2. Hell
"Interestingly enough," says Laurie, "while there seems to be an increased belief in a place called hell, most people don't believe they are headed there. Instead, they believe that hell is reserved for only the most hardened of criminals and other "evil" elements of our society."

Not true and Laurie explains why: "God's Word judges people by a different set of criteria. You are not sent to hell for being a bad person any more than you are sent to heaven for being a good person."

Only perfect people can go to heaven and there are no perfect people. Romans 3:23 says all have sinned and sin separates us from God. Clearly, people (all people) have a problem.

Adds Laurie, "But God solved our problem by sending His Son to bridge the gap between sinful man and perfect God."
"While God clearly says that those who reject the salvation offered through His Son will spend eternity separated from Him," warns Laurie. "God repeatedly gives each person ample opportunity to choose life--abundant life on earth and eternal life in heaven. (2 Peter 3:9).

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him"                            (1 Corinthians 2:9).

A wise man once said: "Although we will all be eventually resurrected, not everyone will go to heaven. A  choice must be made by each person in this life, and this choice will determine one's eternal destination." -- quote taken from Got Questions.org: Is There Life After Death?
